Pelican Rest Tourist Park is located in Balonne or the St George Region, – just 1.6km north of the centre of town (St George) on the road heading towards Roma and a short stroll to the Balonne River.

Apart from our immaculately clean amenities (with disabled facilities also) you will find we are home to one of the best camp-kitchens in St George.

With a carousel wood fire, and TV with plenty of room for relaxing, it’s the perfect place to meet your camping neighbours to discuss your travels and your big catch on the dam over some local cheese and wine.

The town of St George is 513 kilometres due west of Brisbane and the Sunshine and Gold Coasts and sits just inside the region of South West Queensland and on the edge of the outback with its warm dry conditions is very popular for tourists.
St George sits at the junction of several highways including the Castlereagh Highway, the Moonie Highway, the Carnarvon Highway and the Balonne Highway. The only crossing of the Balonne River is the Andrew Nixon Bridge on the Balonne Highway.
Being the gateway to areas further north and west, it’s a busy stopover point for holiday travellers, commercial transport and of course the local airport and an easy drive from the NSW border and Lightning Ridge.
